If you want to please a friend or family member this holiday season, I suggest you try this new family favorite dish called Cheesy Beef Goulash. I made this for my son’s 2nd birthday and it was a huge hit with our guests. This is not a dish we commonly see here in the Philippines and we served up a lot of other dishes. But hands down, this was everyone’s favorite.
This recipe was inspired by Lilluna’s recipe. It’s so tasty and it’s very easy to make. The recipe below is my own version and some of the ingredients might not be available. For example, the Montreal seasoning and the Prego tomato sauce. The Prego sauce is usually available in the bigger grocery stores, but the Montreal seasoning may have to be ordered online or bought at S&R. If you don’t have the ingredients listed below you can check this recipe here
2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
2 lbs ground beef
1 tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
1.5 tbsp coconut sugar
1 bottle prego sauce (24oz)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Cook elbow macaroni in a boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked.
Drain water and set aside.
Saute ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until cooked.
Remove excess oil.
Add seasoning and tomato sauce.
Stir well. Cover and allow to cook for 15 minutes. Add sugar and cook another 10minutes.
Mix elbow macaroni and ground beef with tomato sauce, stir well.
Turn off heat, and add 1 cup of cheddar and stir. Serve and enjoy.
